Supply Chain Recruiting Services

Your hiring needs will vary over time depending on role, business cycle and other factors. We offer a broad portfolio of customizable supply chain recruiting services designed to meet the hiring needs of any organization.

Retained Executive Search Engagement

Do you have a critical need for a company officer or senior level executive with a high level of expertise and proven track record that can help elevate your supply chain to the next level? As your exclusive retained search partner and consultant, we prioritize and dedicate our time, full resources and market and industry expertise to work directly for you and your company.

THE ADVANTAGE

Our process includes an initial meeting with you and your key staff to engage in a deep-dive of data gathering, including marketplace and compensation analysis, in order to define requirements and outcomes and set clear expectations for deliverables and results. We then build a customized search strategy and start the process of sourcing and recruiting, networking, and conduct extensive candidate screening and reference checks to find and deliver highly motivated and available top talent to you. We also provide full candidate management through interview and selection, offer, negotiation and on-boarding stages.

A Retained Search Engagement should be considered when:

  • There is a critical hiring need with an urgent deadline to fill
  • Confidentiality is critical (especially if an existing candidate is in place)
  • The role requires a high degree of specialization, knowledge and skill
  • Traditional recruiting methods have not proven successful
  • Deep level investigative, research, sourcing and screening is required
  • You seek to engage the most qualified and highly skilled, top performing candidates
  • You want a highly experienced, exclusive resource to guarantee that the role will be filled
Exclusive Contingency (Container)

Do you have junior to mid-level openings that you need to fill quickly and want to maintain credibility with candidates and control over the submission and recruiting process? As your Exclusive Contingency firm, we will be the only firm representing your opening, company and brand to candidates in the supply chain marketplace. This is one of our most popular and recommended service offerings for the advantages referenced below, plus the cost is identical to what you would pay for a Contingency Search.

THE ADVANTAGE

Your company and brand are appropriately marketed to candidates by an experienced supply chain recruiting firm. This helps candidates to have a better and more in-depth understanding of the role and builds your company's credibility, increasing their comfort and interest level throughout the entire process. We handle the complete front-end submission and recruiting process, as well as candidate management through the interview, selection, offer presentation/negotiation and on-boarding stages as your single point of contact.

Since we would have an advantage in the marketplace by representing your contingency position and brand exclusively to candidates, we are able to prioritize your opening(s) over other contingent projects which means more time, effort and resources are dedicated to the search. A partial fee is paid up front to initiate the search and the balance is due when the candidate is placed and starts the job at your company.

An Exclusive Contingency agreement should be considered when:

  • Urgency and time to fill are important, but not as critical as for a retained search
  • The positions are junior to mid-level roles
  • You prefer a single point of contact to market your position and manage the entire process
  • Confidentiality may be required
  • You want to ensure that your company and brand are well represented to candidates exclusively by one experienced, well established supply chain recruiting firm.
  • You seek the most qualified and highly skilled, top performing candidates within the marketplace
  • You prefer the recruiting for your position to be prioritized over other recruitment projects
Supply Chain Contract Recruiters

Do you have a large hiring initiative on the horizon such as a build-out of a new department or start-up of a factory or warehouse? We can furnish you with a Supply Chain Contract Recruiter to work onsite at your location (or virtually) to lead or assist with the recruitment efforts in close partnership with your hiring managers and HR staff.

THE ADVANTAGE

Our Supply Chain Contract Recruiter would work on our payroll but take direction from someone within your organization. This can be a very cost effective solution as you determine the length of the project, weekly work hours, and billing rate, making it easy to manage to your budget. If hiring slows down to the point where you no longer need an additional recruiting resource, just notify us and we'll work out an earlier end date for our contractor. Another advantage is scalability. If your hiring volume fluctuates throughout the year you can easily scale up or down by adding or deducting Contract Recruiters from your staff. On the contrary, hiring full-time Recruiters based on projected hiring forecasts that never come to fruition can be very costly, especially if you end up having to terminate someone for lack of work.

SCM Talent Group is fully insured and our payroll service is setup to handle both 1099 and W-2 contractors. Our Founder, Rodney Apple, formed the "Supply Chain Recruiters" LinkedIn Group back in 2008 which has over 250 members so far. Since we're already connected to hundreds of other Supply Chain Sourcers and Recruiters all over the country, we can quickly identify candidates based on your particular needs and have them working onsite at your location within a short timeframe.

A Supply Chain Contract Recruiter should be considered when:

  • You have a large hiring initiative to quickly staff now or in the near future
  • Your current Recruiter is carrying too many job requisitions and needs help
  • Your business is experiencing high growth and hiring needs are on the rise
  • You prefer not to hire a fulltime Recruiter based on your hiring volumes and would rather hire someone on a temporary basis
  • Your current Recruiter is taking an extended leave of absence and you need someone to handle the recruitment work on an interim basis
Supply Chain Contract Staffing

Do you have a critical, temporary project-oriented staffing need to fill quickly? Perhaps you have a need for a highly skilled and experienced consultant to conduct a network optimization study or to work on a complex WMS or TMS implementation.

We offer Supply Chain Contract Staffing services with consultants billed on an hourly project basis (1099 or W-2 contractors). Our network of supply chain professionals encompasses not only those who prefer full-time opportunities, but also those who prefer hourly, consulting based work. We have the ability to reach out to these talented professionals quickly, determine their "fit", hourly rates, and availability for your project, and engage them as appropriate.

THE ADVANTAGE

For some supply chain projects, you may not have the in-house expertise or available resources to fulfill your project deliverables. In this scenario, hiring a Supply Chain Consultant can be advantageous as you can close any talent gaps on your team plus maintain your project schedule, improving the odds of hitting key milestones. In addition, it's typically quicker and more cost effective to hire a Supply Chain Consultant instead of a full-time employee, especially if the project is a year or less in duration.

Supply Chain Contract Staffing Services should be considered when:

  • There is an urgent need for someone to work on a critical, time-sensitive project
  • There is an ongoing need for project-based work that requires highly skilled and specialized talent
  • The company does not have available headcount for a full-time, permanent position, but has budget to hire contingent workers to get critical work done right away
  • You prefer that a third party manage the recruiting, negotiation, and billing and invoicing process
  • Consultants/contractors may work on a W-2 or 1099 basis
